Tortured four-year-old maid rescued in Gujranwala

GUJRAT: The Child Protection Bureau in Gujranwala rescued a four years old girl child who was being subjected to physical torture by the owners of the house where she was ‘employed’ as a maid.

The victim, identified as Muskan, was recovered from the house in Imran Town on the Sui Gas Road.

The bureau had received the report of domestic violence with the minor girl at the house of Humayun Shahzad and Muhammad Irfan. An official team raided the house and rescued Muskan whose face and body parts had the torture marks. It shifted her to the child protection centre.

The house owner, Humayun, said he had hired the services of the girl after paying an advance amount of Rs12,000 to her father and fixed her monthly salary.

Police registered a case against the owners of the house, Humayun and Irfan, on the report of an official of the Child Protection Bureau and also arrested both the suspects. Police also arrested the father of the girl.

MURDER: The body of the manager of a distribution company was found nine days after he went missing in Adowal locality of the Rehmania police area.

Police claimed to have arrested the suspect involved in the double murder, including the missing man as well as his driver.

Shiraz Sarwar Butt (42), a resident of Jalalpur Sobtian, had gone missing on Oct 1 and the case of his kidnap was lodged on the complaint of his cousin, Usman Butt. On Oct 2, the same police station found the body of 22-year-old Danish, a resident of Muzaffarabad, Azad Kashmir, who was a driver in Shiraz’s company. Both the cases were lodged separately with the same police station.

The killer turned out to be, Usman Butt, a cousin of the deceased manager, his business partner as well as A spokesman for Gujrat police said District Police Officer Mustansar Atta Bajwa had constituted a team under Gujrat SP Investigation Riaz Ahmed Naz and Kharian DSP Malik Irfan Safdar to resolve the murder cases.

During investigation, police arrested Usman Butt and he revealed that he had shot his cousin Shiraz dead in connivance with his own second wife at their house in Kharian and put the body into a box to dispose it of later. He further said he shot dead driver Danish and threw his body near Waince village along the bank of Bhimber storm water channel.

The suspect told the police that he had committed fraud in joint business as his expenditures increased due to the second marriage and he could not answer the questions of his partner (Shiraz).
