MUZAFFARGARH: The police in Muzaffargarh recovered a 21-day-old girl from Multan on Sunday, according to a police spokesperson. The infant, who had been abducted from her home in the city just seven days after her birth, was rescued after a coordinated effort by law enforcement agencies.
A case was registered against unidentified suspects immediately following the abduction, and a search operation was launched.
District Police Officer Syed Hasnain Haider said that after being alerted about the incident, he directed Station House Officer (SHO) Iftikhar Malkani to lead the search efforts.
The operation extended to various locations, including Rahim Yar Khan, Kot Sabzal, Multan and Bahawalpur.
The police also arrested the kidnappers involved in the crime. The rescued infant was returned to her mother, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the police for their efforts.
MURDER: Progress has been made in the murder case of local journalist Meher Ashfaq Ahmed Syal, with the police arresting four main suspects five months after the crime. Among those arrested are the suspects directly involved in the killing, as well as accomplices who facilitated the crime.
The police said ongoing investigation is now focused on determining whether a government officer was involved in the murder. Officials suggested that if evidence points to their involvement, the officer could also face arrest.
Journalist Syal was shot on May 15 near the Thermal Bypass area of city police. Police officials said that a press conference will soon be held to provide further details.
