ISLAMABAD: Stall holders and public faced awkward situation when municipal administration decided to close G-6 Sunday bazaar in the afternoon.

The administration got the bazaar closed to ensure foolproof security for SCO meeting slated to be held here in Islamabad on Oct 15 and 16.

In the same analogy, the director of municipal administration (DMA) kept the H-9 weekly bazaar closed on Sunday, but G-6 bazaar remained opened till around 2pm. However, the administration got it closed, putting the stall holders and public in trouble.

A stall holder said that DMA should have informed the stall holders about closure of Sunday bazaar well before time and it is strange that they got it closed mid day, causing financial loss to stall holders.

They also protested against the municipal authority. Director DMA Dr Sania Pasha could not be approached for her comments.

Meanwhile, security of entire Islamabad is on high alert as government is committed to ensure foolproof security for all visiting delegates who will attend SCO meeting in Islamabad. Besides, security measures, beautification and renovation work was also carried out in Islamabad as trees are also decorated with colorful lights.
