RAWALPINDI: A man and his wife were gunned down allegedly by their son-in-law over a family dispute in Kotli Sattian.

Ghaffar Ahmed Shahid in a First Investigation Report (FIR) registered with the police stated that he was at home with his parents when someone knocked at the door.

He said as he opened the door, he found his brother-in-law Tauqir Ahmad outside. He said Tauqir shouted and asked his parents to come out as he wanted to talk to them about his wife and children.

He said his father Ibrar Ahmad and mother Waheeda Parveen asked Tauqir to come inside if he wanted to discuss the issue.

However, Tauqir kept on shouting outside and later pulled out a pistol and fired gunshots on his mother and father, injuring them critically.

He said his parents succumbed to their injuries while being shifted to hospital.

Mr Shahid said Tauqir used to torture his sister Anila due to which she had returned to her parents’ house about 10 months ago.

Police have registered a murder case and launched an investigation. However, the alleged killer is yet to be arrested.
