Bajaur man kills self after shooting wife

BAJAUR: A man shot dead his wife before turning the gun on himself in Naraza area of Salarzai tehsil here on Monday.

Police and locals said that following an exchange of harsh words, Khitab Khan killed himself after shooting his wife.

They said that the woman, 30, also died on the spot after receiving multiple gunshots. The police are busy in investigation.

VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT: All Bajaur inter-district volleyball tournament kicked off here to engage local youth in positive activities.

The opening ceremony of the tournament was held at Benazir Bhutto indoor games hall in sports complex, Khar.

Bajaur volleyball association members, youth, and sports fans also attended the inaugural ceremony of the tournament in which 32 best teams across the district were taking part.

Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan said that the tournament was meant to promote the volleyball in the district and to keep the youth engaged in positive activities.

He told the participants that the district administration was committed to promoting all types of sports.

The DC claimed that besides the popular games, the administration had also planned for the promotion of several traditional games in the district.
