PESHAWAR: Chairman Standing Committee on Inter-Provincial Coordination and PPP Parliamentary Leader in the provincial assembly Ahmed Karim Kundi on Monday called for immediate convening of a meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) to take up the issues of pending net hydel and gas profits.

Chairing an introductory meeting of IPC here, he said that the CCI meeting should be held within 90 days as a constitutional requirement, but deplored that it could not be held for the last eight months. He said that the KP government should write a letter in that regard to fulfil this constitutional obligation as soon as possible.

Ahmed Kandi said that an early CCI meeting was imperative to take up the issues regarding resources of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, including net hydel profit, and profits on gas, oil, tobacco, mining and minerals.
