OTTAWA: Chaudhri Mohammad Zafrullah Khan, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister, told a Pre­­ss conference here today [Oct 14]: “Pak­istan will always fight on the side of freedom.”

“But should some unhappy occasion arise, she reserves the right to judge any issue on its merits in reaching a decision as to which side freedom is on.” He was answering a reporter who asked him to comment on the speech of Mr Nehru, Indian Prime Minister, to the United States Congress yesterday. “It is impossible to judge such an issue in advance or to deal with hypothetical cases,” Chaudhri Zafrullah said. Asked his views on the relationship between the Chinese Communist and Moscow, he said: “I am constitutionally incapable of speculating on such a matter.” Pakistan … was watching developments in China anxiously.
