LARKANA: A fierce gun battle between Morio and Aghani clansmen near Moria Faqeer village, some 25 kilometres from here, left two persons dead and four others wounded on Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Latif Morio and Mujahid Aghani and the wounded victims as Mohammed Ayub, Farhan and Gul Hassan from the Morio clan and Allah Wadhayo from the Aghani clan. The bodies were shifted to the Naudero Hospital for a postmortem examination. The injured were taken to the emergency centre of the Chandka Medical College Hospital for treatment.

The situation in the area was so tense that Larkana SSP Dr Mir Rohal Khan Khoso himself rushed to the troubled area to help police avert further violence.

Sources in the area said that the trouble had already started when a herd of goats belonging to some Aghani clansmen entered the fruit farm owned by Morios on Monday and spoiled it. The matter was reported to the police station concerned.
