NAROWAL: A Mushaira of Punjabi poets from India and Pakistan was held at Kartarpur.

A delegation of Indian poets reached Gurdwara Darbar Sahib via the Kartarpur Corridor. Pakistani poets welcomed them with flower garlands for ‘Sanjhi Sithak’ held in Kartarpur city outside of Gurdwara Complex.

The Indian delegation included Punjabi poets Jaspinder Pal Grewal, Naresh Kumar, Surinder Dhillon, Surjit Grewal, Sonu Bahadur, Harvinder Singh and Vajveer Grewal while the Pakistani poets included Muhammad Sabir Naz, Bashir Kamal, Muhammad Asghar Bhatti, Baba Zulfikar Hashmi, Noor Hassan and Rajab Ali.

The Indian delegation performed religious rituals at Guru Nanak’s Gurdwara. The poets recited their poetry on the division, culture, civilization and culture of Punjab in their own unique style. At the end of the ceremony, gifts and shields were also given to the Indian poets.

A large number of visitors and Sikh pilgrims were also present on this occasion.
