QUETTA: Quetta police arrested Dawood Shah Kakar, president of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Balochistan, on Tuesday.

According to SSP Operations Quetta, Muhammad Baloch, the arrest was made under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) due to concerns over a potential threat to public peace.

Party leaders also issued a statement regarding the arrest, claiming that Mr Kakar was en route to attend a rally in Sibi when he was detained near Saryab Customs and transferred to the Cantt police station in Quetta.
