CHITRAL: The residents of Reshun village in Upper Chitral have announced to block Chitral-Shandur Road after Friday prayers to press the government to resolve their issues related to electricity and fulfilling the promise made with them.
Power Action Committee (PAC) of the village has advised the residents of Upper Chitral to pass through Reshun village before the Friday prayers after which the road will be closed till acceptance of its demands.
The residents of the village said that the hydropower station of 4.2 megawatts generation capacity was situated in Reshun and run by Pakhtunkhwa Energy Development Organisation (Pedo), so they were entitled to a number of concessions including zero loadshedding and special concession in tariff.
The PAC leaders said that government had time and again promised to fulfil their demands, keeping in view their sacrifices for construction of the power house, but it not honour its words which compelled them to launch protest.
