SWAT: Two women were killed over petty domestic disputes in different areas of Swat here on Thursday.

According to Kabal police, a man allegedly murdered his daughter-in-law by slitting her throat with a sharp object in Bakroo locality of Qalagey area. They said that the suspect fled scene after committing the crime.

A brother of the woman told police that his sister had been married to Sultan Nawab, son of Rahim Bacha, for nine years. The couple had two children. Her husband was working abroad and the woman lived with her father-in-law Rahim Bacha. On Thursday morning, Rahim Bacha, for reasons yet unknown, allegedly killed her by cutting her throat.

In Naway Kallay area of Barikot tehsil, a man allegedly shot dead his wife. According to Ghalegey police, the suspect, Habibullah, opened firing on his wife Kulsoom Bibi, following a domestic dispute. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the murder.

Seven women have been killed in the district during the last few days, according to the information released by the office of district police officer. Authorities have launched investigations into the incident.
