SWABI: Unknown thieves took away an electricity transformer from the Sports Complex in Bamkhel, sources in the complex told Dawn on Friday.

The sources said that in the past, the thieves used to take away coils and oil from the transformers, but this time they decamped with the entire transformer.

Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) Sub-Divisional Officer, Shahid Akbar filed a complaint with the local police station, stating that a 50 KV power transformer installed in the sports complex had been taken away by unknown thieves on Thursday night.

BOY KILLED: A teenager identified as Amir Zaman, 17, was killed by unidentified attackers when they opened fire on him in front of his house in Pabini village, said police.

When contacted, the officials of the city police station said that the cause of killing was not immediately known; however, police registered an FIR and started investigation.
