BAJAUR: District administration on Friday launched a crackdown on quacks and sealed two clinics here in the tribal district.

According to a statement, the action against the quacks was launched in the light of credible reports compiled by local health department that scores of quacks were working across the district, spreading diseases and increasing medical complications among the local residents.

The statement, issued from the office of the deputy commissioner, stated that the teams visited several quackery outlets in different markets and sealed two clinics of quacks in Nawagai bazaar for not having any authorised registration and legal documents.

The statement said that the health practitioners were warned to get the registration certificate immediately to avoid legal action against them.
