BAHAWALPUR: Multan police arrested five students on Saturday for violence.

According to police sources, a group of students allegedly indulged in violence and broke the main gate of a private college in Multan’s Rashidabad locality on Friday. Its CCTV footage went viral on social media which alerted the Multan police. A heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene and claimed to have arrested five students while several others managed to flee on their motorcycles.

The police said the arrested students were lodged in the lock-up and further action against the fleeing students was under process.

SHOT DEAD: A man and a woman were shot dead allegedly by unidentified persons near village 7 Pull Adda Lar at Basti Malook in Lodhran district on Saturday.

According to police sources, Aamir and Malika Bibi were frequently seen wandering in the area on a motorcycle. They suspect that it may be an honour killing case.

Police registered a double murder case and sent the bodies to hospital for a postmortem examination.

BRICK KILNS: Four brick kilns were destroyed while another 16 were sealed after imposing a fine of Rs1 million on their owners over violation of zigzag technology in Lodhran district on Saturday.
