GUJRAT: PTI central President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi assured his party workers that their sacrifices rendered for the party and his family in the recent testing times would never be forgotten and they would always be given respect by him and his family.
He said this during his visit to Gujrat on Saturday. He visited his hometown after a gap of four months.
Flanked by his son Rasikh Elahi and cousin Sameera Elahi, he attended the Qul of his family friend Zahoor Sahi, a former member of the district council who was a close aide to the late Chaudhry Zahoor Elahi. Sahi died on Thursday at village Tapiala Sahian near Kunjah at the age of 93.
Speaking to the sons of Sahi, including Saifullah Sahi, a former union council chairman and Samiullah, Elahi lauded the services of their father for the area.
This was only the second time that Parvez visited his hometown since his release from jail. A large number of people and local politicians met him.
Earlier, former ministers Qamar Zaman Kaira and Ch Wajahat Hussain, former lawmakers, Nazar Gondal, Tariq Tarrar Raika, Rehman Naseer Marala, Jaafar Iqbal Fatta Bhand, MPAs Khalid Asghar Ghural, Syed Madad Ali Shah and Ijaz Warraich Shahdaula also visited the Sahi house to offer condolences.
