Chitral chamber’s office-bearers take oath

CHITRAL: The oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of Chitral Chamber of Commerce and Industry held here on Friday.

Lower Chitral Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mohsin Iqbal administered the oath to the office-bearers.

Speaking on the occasion, Mohsin Iqbal said that the chamber had a prominent role in the economic development of the region and there was a great potential of economic activities in the area which could lead to poverty alleviation.

He also stressed the inclusion of women in economic activities by identifying possible roles for them as part of the workforce and as entrepreneurs, while the high rate of literacy among women here was an additional benefit.

Earlier, the newly elected president Mehboob Azam and other office holders including Mohammad Wazir, Sultan Mohammad Baig and khateeb of Shahi Masjid Maulana Khaleequz Zaman also expressed their views and highlighted the achievements of the chamber during the past ten years.
