BAJAUR: A boy ended his life after inhaling poisonous pills in Mamond tehsil here on Saturday, residents and the police said.

They said the deceased, identified as Hanifullah, 16, took his life inside his home in Dawagi village. They said he took the extreme step after exchanging harsh words with his father.

The residents said that the deceased, who was a student of a local school, was earlier advised by his father to focus on his education instead of wasting his time in useless activities. However, the residents said the father’s advice angered the boy, who started arguing with his father, and later led him to take his life.

The residents said that family members were shifting him to a hospital after finding him lying unconscious in a room, but he died on the way.

Meanwhile, an official at the Mamond police station told Dawn that they were investigating the incident.
