Muzaffargarh woman killed by brother over property

MUZAFFARGARH: A woman was killed by her brother for demanding her share in property in Kot Addu on Sunday.

Rabia Bibi, 38, a resident of Ward No14-A, was shot dead by her brother Asghar Ali who was angry with her for asking for a share in their father’s property. He had sold the inherited land and Rabia was demanded her share in the money. The suspect fled after the murder.

The Kot Addu City police started the operation and registered a case against Asghar Ali. Rabia’s body was shifted to hospital for a post-mortem.

SENTENCED: A man was sentenced to death on two counts for double murder in district Layyah.

The convict, Amjad Javed Virar, had killed Aslam and his son Sajjad on personal grudge on the limits of Chobara Police Station. The co-suspect was fined Rs1m while co-accused Ahmed Ali was acquitted in the case.

Additional Sessions Judge Akhtar Abbas announced the verdict.

DRUGS: Police arrested a drug dealer and seized one kilogram of heroin from his possession at Lal Esan Crore. The suspect was identified as Sajjad.
