KOHAT, April 6: Provincial Population Welfare and Women Development Minister Kashif Azam has said the government believes in ending discrimination against women and it is striving hard to create equal opportunities for women in all spheres of life.

Speaking at the concluding ceremony of a two-year project titled ‘saving women from victimisation and honour killing’ at the Meerman Centre on Thursday, he regretted that there were poor facilities available for women in the filed of education.

He said the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal government would use all its resources to provide adequate education facilities to women in every nook and corner of the province.

Razia Aziz, MNA, said it was unfortunate that people were not practicing Islam in its true sense causing discrimination against women in society. She said matchless safeguards had been guaranteed for women in Islam.

The in-charge of the centre, Brig (retd) Haroon, briefed the audience about the achievements made through the project. He urged the government to extend the project for another two years.
