Doctor shot at, injured

SAHIWAL: A doctor was critically injured after being shot at by four men near 116/12-L village on Sunday night.

As per police, Dr Muhammad Tariq, a medical officer at the Rural Health Center at 116/12-L village, was shot at by two motorcyclists while returning from the RHC. The attackers then fled the scene.

Dr Tariq sustained two bullets and injuries and was shifted to the local tehsil headquarters hospital for treatment. He told police that the suspects, Sohail, Chan Mahi, Abdur Rehman and Zainul Abideen, had been posting derogatory comments against him on social media. He had also filed a complaint against them.

Kasowal police have registered a case against the four suspects under Section 324 of the Pakistan Penal Code, without any arrest so far.
