OKARA: A young man was stabbed to death allegedly over a monetary dispute on Sunday night near Dipalpur Chowk.

As per the FIR, the victim, Maqsood, who sold beverages on a pushcart, had an argument with the suspect, Zain, over a monetary issue four days back.

On Sunday night, when Maqsood, along with brother Omer Hayat, was returning home from his workplace in the city’s Sarafa Bazaar, the suspect intercepted them near Dipalpur Chowk.

Both exchanged words again and during a scuffle, Zain stabbed Maqsood twice with a knife, leaving him critically injured. The injured youth was shifted to the district headquarters hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds.

On the report of the victim’s brother, Omer, City B division police registered a case under section 302 of the PPC against Zain and arrested him.
