LAHORE: The Lahore High Court was informed on Monday that no case had been registered against the sisters of incarcerated PTI founding chairman Imran Khan by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

However, the court was told, an inquiry on money laundering charges was pending against the former prime minister’s sisters.

A federal law officer presented a report before the court on behalf of the FIA in connection with a petition filed by Shahraiz Azeem Khan, the son of Aleema Khan, sister of the ex-premier, seeking details of the cases, if any, registered against his mother and aunt Uzma Khan.In light of the FIA report, Justice Ali Zia Bajwa disposed of the petition.

At the last hearing, the Punjab government had informed the court that police registered seven cases against Aleema Khan and three against Uzma Khan in Lahore.

A law officer said there was one case against Aleema Khan in Rawalpindi and two each in Attock against both sisters.

The petitioner had expressed concern that his mother and aunt might be arrested again in undisclosed cases by the FIA.
