ISLAMABAD: To provide proper forum to customers to lodge their complaints, Islamabad Electricity Supply Company (Iesco) has decided to organise online e-kutcheries.
Facebook e-kutcheries will be held on Wednesday from 9:30am to 11:30am in all six operational circles of Iesco. Operational circles’ in charge will attend to customers complaints through Facebook live or through telephone calls. Islamabad circle customers can participate in Facebook live e-kutchery by using Facebook ID or can call SE Iesco Islamabad, SE Rawalpindi-city and cantt circle, SEs Attock circle, Chakwal and Jhelum on their respective phone numbers.
During the ongoing month of October, Iesco recovered approximately Rs10 million on account of power theft and police also arrested 19 electricity thieves.
According to a statement, Iesco checked more than 49,000 meters out of which 178 were found in direct supply of electricity and seven meters were tampered.
Iesco Chief Executive Mohammad Naeem Jan said all teams gave their best to counter power pilferers throughout the Iesco region during the ongoing anti-power theft campaign.
While giving briefing, Mr Jan said since September, Iesco recovered fine amounting to approximately Rs305.1 million from 3,557 power pilferers while 2,136 electricity thieves were arrested.
“With support of the government, energy ministry and law enforcement agencies, we will soon get rid of this national crime and eliminate power theft from Iesco region. I request customers to report power theft to relevant SDO on help line number 118,” he said.
