RAWALPINDI: A man was killed in a road accident on Jhelum Road while another person was gunned down by an unidentified person in Sadiqabad area on Monday, police said.

The first incident occurred in Sadiqabad where a man was shot dead in the early hours of Monday.

Shahid Hussain lodged an FIR with the police saying that his cousin, Syed Adeel Bukhari, aged around 20 years, worked in Rehmanabad area.

He said he received a phone call at 1:45am that his cousin had been shot and badly injured by an unidentified person and had been shifted to a hospital by the emergency service Rescue 1122.

He said he rushed to the hospital where he found his cousin’s body lying in the mortuary.

The police have registered a case and launched investigation.

In another incident, a van was heading towards Rawat from Kutchery Chowk when it collided head-on with a car coming from the wrong side near Golf Club.

As a result, van driver Maqbool Khan , 45, died on the spot while another passenger identified as Nadeem Abbas sustained multiple injuries.

Shortly after the accident, Morgah police reached the spot and shifted the body and injured to Benazir Bhutto Hospital (BBH).

Police impounded the car and lodged an FIR against the accused driver.
