NAWABSHAH: A seven-year-old boy died and as many as 13 other family members fell unconscious after eating food in their house in a village near Mehrabpur town of Naushahro Feroze district on Sunday night.

Residents of Mehar Haji Rajper village said that dinner was prepared in the dark amid power outage.

After eating the food, all family members went to bed but none of them woke up in the morning. They said some neighbours went into the house and tried to wake them up but in vain.

They took the unconscious men, women and children to a hospital in Mehrabpur where the patients were provided emergency treatment but the seven-year-old boy, Ammar, had already died.

Doctors at the hospital said that the condition of all patients was now out of danger.
