LAHORE: Veteran Pakistan player Aqeel Khan comfortably defeated Shahzad Khan on Tuesday to reach the men’s singles quarter-final of the Sheheryar Malik Memorial Pakistan Open Tennis Championship here at the Sports Board Punjab Tennis Academy.

Aqeel won the match 6-4, 6-4 to enter the last-eight stage.

Shoaib Khan, Barkatullah, Abu Bakr, Mohammad Abid, Yousuf Khalil and Muzammil Murtaza also won their respective matches to qualify for the quarter-finals.

On the women’s side, Ushna Sohail, Noor Malik, Khunsha Babar, Rahat-ul-Ain made the quarters.
