UMERKOT : Abdul Quddus Memon, District and Sessions Judge of Umerkot, has issued strict directives to local government departments, emphasizing the protection of trees and the enforcement of education-related laws. This he expressed in a meeting with officials and journalists at his office.

He instructed that no trees in the district be chopped off without prior permission in case of compulsion. He also urged the public to report any illegal tree-cutting or activities of timber mafia in their areas.

Additionally, Mr Memon stressed the importance of providing free textbooks to all students enrolled in government schools. He warned that legal action will be taken against government employees who fail to ensure the timely distribution of these books.

He further directed the Sindh Employees’ Social Security Institute (SESSI) to register all domestic workers and laborers, ensuring that they receive entitled benefits, including healthcare, education, and financial assistance. He urged workers to register with them with institutes concerned to access these services.

The judge’s directives aim to ensure both environmental conservation and the rights of students and laborers across the district.
