LAHORE: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has decided to celebrate the passage of the 26th constitutional amendment by holding a march in the Punjab capital.

Entitled ‘Parliament’s Supremacy March’, the event will be held on Oct 31, a party meeting decided here on Wednesday.

A 15-member organising committee led by the PPP’s Punjab chapter Secretary General Syed Hassan Murtaza has been formed to make preparations for the march likely to be held from Charing Cross on The Mall to the Shimla Pahari intersection.

The march organizing committee comprises Mian Misbahur Rehman, Aslam Gill, Azizur Rehman Chan, Faisal Mir, Rana Jamil Manj, Faiza Malik, Zahid Zulfikar, Asif Nagra, Atif Rafiq, Amjad Jutt, Nargis Khan, Rana Ashar, Yasir Bara, and Edwin Sahutra.

AZMA: Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari has accused the wife of former prime minister Imran Khan of corrupt practices when she was the first lady.

“Bushra Bibi was involved in appointing officials after taking bribes ranging from Rs30 million to Rs50 million during the tenure of her husband,” the minister said in a statement on Wednesday.

She said after seizing the PM House, Bushra’s role was primarily to steal valuable gifts from the Toshakhana.

“This group had undermined the country’s foundations. Now it is playing the woman card and pretending to be apolitical. During the PTI tenure, nothing could move in the country without Bushra’s approval,” she alleged.

She said Bushra’s only task seemed to be collecting diamond rings. Besides she had facilitated the escape of her friend, Farhat Shahzadi known as Farah Khan, after looting the country.
