RAWALPINDI: A man’s headless and half naked body stuffed in an iron trunk was found lying on a street at Misrial Road. According to police, the man’s head has not been found.

Jawad Anwar Mirza, head constable posted as detective foot constable (DFC) at Naseerabad police station, spotted a trunk lying abandoned in the green fields with blood flowing out as he was heading towards Omer Masjid at about 7:30am on Wednesday.

He said when he opened the trunk, he found a beheaded body of a man, who seems to be in his 30s, and was wearing a dark grey shalwar.

On discovering the body, he called the relevant police who arrived at the scene and shifted it to the hospital. A police team has been formed to investigate the matter as there were no CCTV camera where the body was found.

The emergency service Rescue 1122 staff shifted the body to the District Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem. Police said the circumstances under which the man was murdered would be known after the postmortem report was received.

Police have found no complaint of a man missing in the district that can be linked to the body recovered from the trunk. A forensic team visited the spot and collected blood samples for testing.
