Tax facilitation centre in RCB inaugurated

RAWALPINDI: Defense Secretary retired Lt-Gen Mohammad Ali on Thursday inaugurated tax facilitation centre in Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) and visited various parts of the centre and inspected underground electricity cabling project work in Saddar.

Commissioner Aamir Khattak, Station Commander Brigadier Ahmad Nawaz, Director Military Lands and Cantonments Aamir Masood Khan, representatives of Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry were also present.

Defence Secretary while appreciating the project of underground electricity cable project in Saddar area and directed that all kinds of resources should be used to provide better facilities to the people. He said that the civic bodies of cantonment areas would complete all the development schemes in time and ensure the quality of construction material.

Providing a better environment to the people is our first priority, he said. In the briefing on facilitation centre, cantonment board officials said the Tax Facilitation Centre has been established for the convenience of the local residents of cantonment areas.

The centre is consisted of eight counters, including reception desk, property tax, water billing and related matters, Transfer of Immovable property tax. The people will get facility in the centre and will have all facilities under one roof in addition to transfer/change of property, exemption of tax cases, bill rectification and payment status, objection to assessment, grievance redressal, installment, issue of no-objection certificates.

The civic body officials claimed that almost daily hundreds of people are benefiting from the facility. A separate reception desk has been established to guide public.
