SARGODHA: Three members of a family, including two girls, died while two others were injured in a road accident on Sahiwal-Shahpur Road near village Chakrala, 20 kilometres from here on Friday.

According to police, a speeding truck hit two motorcycles, resulting in the instant death of three family members identified as Hamza, his sister Asia Bibi and cousin Zainab Bibi. They were coming back to their village Joda Jagir after studying at madrassa. The third girl, Ayesha Bibi, and Ramzan were seriously injured and were shifted to THQ Hospital.

The police are looking into the case.

The truck driver fled after the accident.

DEMOLISHED: The Sargodha administration, in a midnight operation against encroachments in Block 2 Chowk, demolished all the encroachments and cleared the public space.

Encroachments in Sargodha city have narrowed market streets, causing difficulties for citizens passing through the area.

Taking immediate action upon the instructions of the commissioner, the anti-encroachment staff conducted a midnight operation against encroachments in Block 2 Chowk.

All the encroachments along the walls of a school were demolished, and the government space occupied by the mafia was retrieved.

POACHERS: The Wildlife Department has arrested seven poachers and fined them Rs120,000 for the illegal hunting of pheasants and falcons.

In a raid in Badr Ranjha, seven hunters were arrested for illegal hunting.

INJURED: In Sargodha city, armed individuals shot and injured a 43-year-old citizen and escaped.

The injured person, Iftikhar Idris, was shifted to a hospital, and the police are investigating the case.

The injured is a resident of Siraj Colony.

RALLY: To support the oppressed people of Kashmir and to condemn the cruelties of the Indian government and occupying forces in Kashmir, the University of Sargodha organised a Kashmir Solidarity Walk, which started from Library Chowk and concluded at Fountain Chowk.

The walk was led by Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Mian Ghulam Yasin, along with Dean of the Faculty of Sciences Prof Dr Amir Ali, Student Affairs Director Dr Mahmoodul Hassan, Director Riaz Shad of the Co-Curricular Forum, Dr Munir Gujjar, faculty members, and a large number of students who attended the Solidarity Walk.
