SUKKUR: A video clip showing two toddlers in dacoits’ custody was uploaded on the social media by a gang on Saturday. It stirred an uproar on different social media platforms.

The gang showed the toddlers in chains, and mentioned their names as Waleed (4), son of Waheed Ahmed Memon, and Muawia Nasir, (3), son of Abubakar Bakhrani. It said they would release them only after a ransom of Rs5m was paid to it.

The children were reportedly kidnapped on Sept 23, one from a school and the other from near his home, according to the gang. They have been kept in a hideout in the riverine area of Shikarpur, the gang said.

The school is located in the Jhalan area falling within the jurisdiction of the Lakhi Dar police station. The home of Abubakar Bakhrani is situated in the Haji Latif Shah area, within the limits of the New Faujdari police station of Shikarpur district.
