RAWALPINDI: More than 1,700 police personnel would be deployed for the protection of 774 polio vaccination teams during a week-long anti-polio campaign starting in the garrison city from Monday (today).

A police spokesman said a security plan had been chalked out for anti-polio vaccination teams and more than 1,700 personnel of Rawalpindi police would perform security duties along with 774 teams of polio workers during the week-long campaign. Police station mobile teams, Dolphin Force and Muhafiz squads will patrol the area to ensure security of anti-polio teams participating in the campaign. Rawalpindi police will be using all resources to protect the life and property of citizens – especially for the protection of anti-polio teams.
