QUETTA: The people of Balochistan observed Oct 27 as ‘Kashmir Black Day’ in solidarity with the Kashmiri people holding demonstrations in various districts and towns on Sunday.

Apart from Quetta, the protest rallies took place in Gwadar, Khuzdar, Kalat, Loralai, Dera Murad Jamali, Noshki, Chaman, Kharan, Qila Abdullah, Pishin, Harnai, Sibi, Usta Muhammad, Jhal Magsi and Hub, among other areas.

The participants carried banners and placards, chanting slogans against Indian atrocities in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, according to a news release.

The demonstrators strongly condemned the violence and brutality against the Kashmiri people and reaffirmed their determination to support their right to self-determination. They termed Oct 27, 1947, as a dark day in history, and marked 77 years since Indian forces entered the State of Jammu and Kashmir, initiating decades of represion.
