MUZAFFARGARH: A police constable and a lady doctor rescued a nurse who was abducted by a rickshaw driver and his accomplice on Sunday night.

The nurse managed to send her location via WhatsApp to the lady doctor, alerting her to the danger.

The incident took place in Muzaffargarh, where the nurse, who worked at a private clinic along with lady doctor ‘T’, took a rickshaw to return home after her shift. The driver changed the usual route, prompting the nurse to share her location with the lady doctor. When she questioned the driver, he claimed he needed to drop another passenger first.

The driver and his accomplice took the nurse to a field, where they tied her up and attempted to assault her.

Meanwhile, the lady doctor, accompanied by her husband, reached out to a police constable on duty at Jhang Mor Road and informed him of the nurse’s situation.

The constable and the couple arrived at the location. Upon spotting the rickshaw, the constable started aerial firing, causing the kidnappers to flee.

The nurse was found tied in the field, and the rickshaw was taken into custody. According to the first information report (FIR), the assailants also took her mobile phone.

Civil Lines Station House Officer Shahid Shah arrested main suspect Imran Kharak on Monday who kidnapped and tried to rape the nurse.
