HYDERABAD: Communist Party of Pakistan (CPP) Secretary General Comrade Imdad Kazi has said Pakistan could not get benefit of changing world in the post-colonial era because elite of the country does not allow it to have an independent foreign policy due to its poor economy.

He was addressing party workers in Naseem Nagar on Monday.

Kazi said that Pakistani elites lack the potential to get short-term benefits thrown by the opportunities like Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) and BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) because eventually these forums would serve the interests of centre of neocolonialism.

He said that after getting rid of dollar, the world would become hostage to another currency. The Ukraine war also involved two capitalists’ interests, he viewed. The CPP leader said that the US economy is based on wars, therefore, warmongering seems necessary for the super power.

He believed that the US would prolong the war in Middle East as countries involved in the region would be spending billions of dollars on arms purchases. He said a major chunk of profit from these arms deals would obviously go to the US.

He said that the armed elites that dominate Pakistan had made parliament subservient to it and now after the 26th Constitutional Amendment, the judiciary would also become compliant. He said the working class was not able to survive and different nations were questioning these powers.

He said that only a collective struggle by masses and working class could put an end to usurpation of the country’s resources.
