HYDERABAD: Over 100 electricity connections were cut off by the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (Hesco) in a drive against power thieves launched in the residential colony of the Liaquat University Hospital of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro, on Monday.
A Hesco statement said that its executive engineer, operation division, Kotri, supervised the drive to cut off 110 connections in the colony for the recovery of Rs48.4m.
The power utility has started the campaign in the lower Sindh region in September.
A Hesco spokesman said that a power theft case had been lodged against 372 out of 544 defaulters.
