ISLAMABAD: Tariq Wasim, the elder brother of Dawn photographer Tanveer Shahzad, passed away on Monday after protracted illness.

He was 68 years old. He is survived by two sons and two daughters. The deceased was suffering from liver cirrhosis and had been under treatment at Holy Family Hospital.

Tariq Wasim was a stage and television artist, and his most popular drama was Aghosh which was telecast on Pakistan Television (PTV). Apart from being an artist, he was a banker and retired as manager operations.

The deceased was buried in Media Town graveyard later in the day.

His Qul will be held on Wednesday at Ahata Sheikh Fazal Elahi, Saddar, Rawalpindi at 4pm.
