MUZAFFARGARH: Police arrested two persons in Alipur area for allegedly raping and blackmailing a deaf-mute woman over the last six months, during which time the alleged rape survivor became pregnant.

The case surfaced after the woman’s mother sought medical attention due to her daughter’s deteriorating health, which led to the discovery of her pregnancy.

The rape survivor conveyed that two of her neighbours had repeatedly raped her and made a video to use as blackmail.

Following this revelation, the mother reported the crime to Seetpur police.

District Police Officer Syed Hasnain Haider formed a team to investigate and arrest the alleged culprits.

Police arrested one of the main suspects and launched a search to locate the other.

The DPO said that stringent legal action would be taken to ensure justice for the survivor.

In a separate incident, the Alipur police arrested the prime suspect in the murder case of a 14-year-old boy.

The police said that within 24 hours of the incident, they had traced and arrested the suspect, who was reportedly the victim’s uncle.

The suspect allegedly murdered the boy to gain access to his property, attempting to stage the crime as a robbery or external execution.
