In a statement issued on Thursday, Mr Lanjar also urged the citizens to fulfil all legal requirements for their vehicles in order to avoid any trouble.

Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a gang of bike snatchers by arresting two of its members.

Central SSP Zeeshan Shafiq Siddiqi said the New Karachi Industrial Area police conducted a raid and arrested two suspects, Atta and Amir. They were habitual criminals who were arrested several times in the past, he added.

Their gang, he said, comprised 10 members who had been involved in frequent snatching of two-wheelers and four-wheelers at gunpoint from different parts of the city.
