LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) supremo Imran Khan will never return to power, claims Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.

“He (Imran Khan) was hoping in the jail that the PML-N could not deliver and the people would be on roads. But that did not happen. His politics is taking last breath... mere statements can’t work now,” she said.

Addressing former premier Imran Khan, she said: “You should better sit where you are or home, and keep quite as you will never return to power.” She was speaking at the launch of the “Super Seeder Project” for farmers on Thursday.

Maryam sounded confident regarding reemergence of the PML-N because of its government’s hard work, saying even the PTI was wary of the PML-N’s comeback.

Says PTI wary of the PML-N’s comeback

“Some in PTI are now saying Punjab is progressing because of our hard work. They are saying the PML-N is making a come back,” she said and added in performance the PML-N was ahead of every one.

“They (opposition) remained critical of our road projects... see Dubai as it first made infrastructure which followed progress,” she said and appeal to the people to see things were getting better and Pakistan is coming out of crises.

Lashing out at Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for attending the swearing-in of CJP Yahya Afridi, Maryam said the critics of 26th Amendment and (former) chief justice (Qazi Faez Isa) was sitting on the front row at the oath-taking ceremony of the new CJP.

She also talked about the `double standards’ of such leaders in the PTI. Gandapur has already been under the scanner of his party supporters for “disappearing” during the party’s Oct 4 protest in Islamabad which it dubbed as “do or die” effort to get their leader Imran Khan released from jail and independence of judiciary.

Maryam Nawaz said the PTI was saying it would reverse the 26th amendment after coming into power. “It will never come to power and this amendment has empowered the people,” she added.

During the event at the Rice Research Institute in Kala Shah Kaku, she handed over Super Seeders to farmers and announced the establishment of modern agricultural equipment rental services in each tehsil of the province.

“Apart from 300 Super Seeders across Punjab, 1,000 more are being added today, with a target of 5,000 within five years, she announced.

She said farmers would be able to purchase a Super Seeder, valued at Rs1.3 million by paying Rs500,000, with the government paying the remaining Rs800,000.

“The Super Seeder is designed to avoid environmental pollution,” she said.
