Office-bearers of PBA elected

KARACHI: The Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) at a meeting of its Board on Thursday elected its office-bearers for the year 2024-25.

According to a statement, Mian Amer Mehmood (Dunya TV) was elected chairman, Salman Iqbal (ARY) as senior vice chairman, Mir Ibrahim Rahman (Geo TV) as vice chairman, Shakeel Masud Hussain (DawnNews) as secretary general, Ahmed Zuberi (Aaj TV) as joint secretary and M. Athar Kazi (KTN) as finance secretary.

Earlier, the annual general body meeting elected three TV members — Chaudhry Abdul Rehman of Neo TV, Ghulam Nabi Morai of Mehran TV and Qaiser Rafiq of Discover Pakistan — as directors on the PBA Board in the elected member category, while five Radio members — Shahid Jamal of FM-106.2, Mirza Muhammad Naeem of Radio Awaz, Nazafreen Saigol Lakhani of FM-89, Sara Taher Khan of FM-91, and Zulfiqar Ali Shah of FM-105 — were elected unopposed as directors on the PBA’s Board.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also felicitated the new PBA office-bearers and expressed the hope that the new cohort would play its role in addressing the issues faced by broadcasting houses, a statement issued by PM Office said.
