LONDON: Chaudhri Khaliquzzaman, President of the Pakistan Muslim League, said here today [Oct 31] that during his recent tour of Middle East countries he had found there was “a general search for some method of stabilising the Muslim States and strengthening them”. Chaudhri Khaliquzzaman, who arrived in London by air from Cairo last night after a six weeks’ tour, said in an interview, he had met a number of Kings, Presidents[,] Prime Ministers and leading politicians and industrialist[s], many of whom had expressed “Agreement on the grouping of Middle East States. “Not one of them expressed any opposition to this idea,” he said.

Of the idea of Islamistan, [Mr] Khaliquzzaman said, there was a general appreciation … but there are different views about the means and methods that should be pursued for realising it. “During my tour, I tried to find whether there is in the Arab world a majority opinion for the establishment of Islamistan. []The peoples of the Middle East have seriously started discussing the idea and ways for the grouping of Middle East States.” — News agencies
