ISLAMABAD: Humna Amjad won a 36-hole contest to clinch the ladies title on the second day of the Chief of Naval Staff Amateur Golf Cham­pionship here at the Margalla Greens Gold Club on Friday.

Humna was tied for the lead with Ami Qin after the first round but pulled away in the second round with a stunning even-par 71 for a total of 150, winning by nine shots. Ami could only return an 80 while Zebunnisa (84) and Anna James Gill (80) finished tied on 166.

The three-round amateurs event teed off with Mohammad Irtaza Hussain grabbing top spot on the leaderboard with a four-under 67.

He holds a two-shot lead over Zafar Hayar with Mohammad Yasir Khokhar, Bilawal Khan and Noman Asghar tied for third at 72.

Alam Afzal leads the senior amateurs after a second-round 74 took him to 147 and a three-stroke lead over Shuaibuddin (74). Mohammad Masood Qureshi (76) and Mohsin Farooq Malik (74) are a further five shots adrift.
