COLOMBO: Australia will play two Test matches in Sri Lanka early next year as part of the ICC World Test Championships, the cricket board in Colombo announced on Friday.

The series will pitch currently second ranked Australia against third ranked Sri Lanka, according to WTC standings.

The first Test will begin from Jan 29, while the second is scheduled to start on Feb 6.

Both matches will be played at the Galle International Cricket stadium.

The Australians will also stay on for a One-day International on Feb 13, Sri Lanka Cricket said in a statement.

Australia last visited Sri Lanka in 2022 for a two-Test series which they levelled.
