Minor girl in Chiniot ‘lured to brothel, repeatedly gang-raped’

CHINIOT: Saddar police have booked six persons, including two women, for abduction and gang-rape of a minor girl at a brothel they were allegedly running in a house near Jaman Colony, Lahore Road, Chiniot, arresting the two nominated ones.

The suspects, four of them, including a woman, unidentified, under sections 364-A, 375-A, 371-A, 372-B of the Pakistan Penal Code and Section 3 of Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act 2018 on the complaint of one Saif Ullah, a resident of Chak No 146-JB, Chiniot.

Saifullah, in the first information report (FIR) said that his cousin Nasreen, wife of Bhai Khan, had been living with him (the complainant), with her 11-year-old daughter ‘N’.

He said that a few days ago, his relative Abida, wife of Rafiq, who lived near Jaman Colony, Lahore Road, Chiniot, visited his house and insisted on taking ‘N’ to her house to impart her knitting and sewing skills. On her insistence, they sent the girl with Abida to her house.

He said a couple of days back, the family attempted to contact Abida on her mobile phone to inquire about the child’s health, but she didn’t took the calls.

Alarmed by the situation, Saif Ullah, along with his relatives Behram and Shakeel reached Abida’s house near Jaman Colony, but found her house locked, the FIR said.

He said that during the search for the child, they spotted Abida, Sufian and an unknown man, with the girl, on a motorcycle near the river Chenab bank in Kot Muhammad Yar area.

As they raised an alarm, the suspects left ‘N’ there an fled away on their motorcycles.

The complainant said that the minor girl, who was in a poor condition, told them that Abida, along with other suspects, including a woman, was running a brothel in her house.

Quoting the girl, Saif Ullah said that Abida took ‘N’ to a deserted house at Kot Muhammad Yar, where three men were already present. Abida took money from them and left, while the three men repeatedly gang-raped the girl for next two days, the complainant, quoting the victim, said.

The girl said the suspects were shifting her to some other place, when Saif Ullah an others arrived and rescued her.

District Police Officer (DPO) Abdullah Ahmad said the two nominated suspects -- Abida and Sufyan -- have been arrested, while a special team is conducting raids to nab others.
