LAHORE: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Saturday allowed the prosecution more time to present its arguments on the pre-arrest bail petitions of PTI founding chairman Imran Khan in four cases of the May 9 riots.

Earlier, Barrister Salman Safdar appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner. He said the court had given the prosecution 11 opportunities to present arguments.

“Now people are questioning me on social media for the delay in the proceedings,” he said.

The counsel said he even received a message from jail, asking about the status of the Lahore cases.

Judge Arshad Javed adjourned the hearing till Nov 8.

Hearing on bail petitions of Imran in four other cases was postponed due to the unavailability of the judge.

PETITION: A sister of Imran Khan has approached the Lahore High Court, seeking details of the cases registered against him.

Noreen Niazi filed a petition, stating that her brother was being continuously targeted for political revenge through new cases. She argued that every citizen had the right to be informed of the cases filed against them. Saying that there were unknown cases registered against Imran, she asked the court to order the authorities to furnish details of all cases against him. She also urged the court to prevent his brother’s arrest in any unknown case.
