Hiring of Pims acting chief challenged in court

ISLAMABAD: The regular admin cadre officers at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) have challenged the appointment of the acting head of the hospital in Islamabad High Court (IHC).

They claimed that the IHC, in a writ petition had earlier restrained the executive director of the hospital from exercising functions other than day-to-day affairs but the order was being violated.

The court has been informed about the order September 30, 2016, which barred the ED, having look-after charge, from changing the recruitment rules.

The IHC issued notices to the respondents with the direction to file their report and parawise comments within two weeks.

It may be mentioned that contempt of court proceedings were already pending against the ED in the court.
