MUZAFFARGARH: A class seven student was reportedly kidnapped from outside the Government Girls High School in Canal Colony on Monday.

The City police registered a case against unknown suspects following a complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, Zubaida Bibi.

According to the complainant, her 13-year-old daughter went missing after arriving at the school but never returned. When she inquired with the school administration, they claimed to have no knowledge of her whereabouts.

She approached the City police where Station House Officer Ata Meeran registered an abduction case and assured her that the suspects would be arrested soon.

Zubaida Bibi also reported receiving two calls from unknown numbers following the abduction.

Police officials stated that they are actively pursuing leads and expect the girl to be recovered soon.

ACTION: Layyah District Police Officer (DPO) Ali Waseem has dismissed SHO Zahid Leghari and Constable Mohammed Imran for negligence.

SHO Shahid Abbas of the Layyah City police has also been removed from active duty and sent to the police line due to poor performance.

According to officials, SHO Leghari was found negligent in a murder case investigation, while Constable Imran faced disciplinary action due to prolonged absence from duty.

DPO Ali Waseem, who recently took charge of the Layyah district, initiated these accountability measures to improve departmental efficiency.

He said all police officers and personnel must carry out their duties diligently, warning that negligence and carelessness will not be tolerated.
